I've been wanting a pedometer so I could track exactly how far many steps that I've been taking. I've researched a few pedometers and have found that the Fitbit is the best. Yes it comes with a bit of a price tag but if you look around you can find one at an awesome price. Plus it helps that I belong to a survey group that pays you $ for each survey to you take that they invite you to. So in-total I believe we paid for it via survey money. Which makes it all the more fun no out of pocket money. Woohoo!
As I've said the Fitbit Ultra tracks your everyday steps, stairs climbed, calories burned, and more, motivating you throughout the day. I have to agree it is very motivating and I've only had it for about 24 hours now.
This is my sleep pattern of last night. Not bad at all almost at 97%. This is with a cat that is very active at night.
Sleeping with the fitbit at night is very simple it comes with a strap you wrap around your wrist the fitbit slips right in and with holding down one button to start the stop watch part of the fitbit your off to slumber land. When you wake up in the morning you hold down the same button and it stops the sleeping mode. I like sticking the fitbit in the charger that's hooked up to the computer. Just a habit that I have. But the fitbit does say that it is wireless. which is always a plus.
So since I got this little baby last night no way was I going to go for a walk at night so the walk had to wait until this morning. I have to say the fitbit is hugely light weight I could hardly tell I had it on. So off on a walk I went this morning. I was as with all pedometers I wasn't sure how well this little gem was going to work. But I knew how many times around the building I had to go for 2 tenths of a mile. And the pedometer was right once around the building was 2 tenths of a mile. So this is hugely exciting for me. As with most people I love electronics I love not having to keep track of how many times I've been around the building.
When I walk I like my mind to wonder I like listening to the music that I've selected to listen to as I walk. It's sort of a time that your mind can just wander and you don't have to keep track of little things. So since I didn't have to worry about how many times I went around I could just enjoy the old 80s' songs. Yes I said it the old 80's songs. I'm starting to feel really old. But nothing like motivating you to walk than "Walk this way" with Run-D.M.C. Or a really motivating "Book of good life." by the Maccabeats. Which is a new song. Just love them Maccabeats.
Anyway results for this mornings walk were great I did more than a mile. :) And 4 flights of stairs. Did I mention I've only been doing this for a little over a month now. You see the fitbit goes a long with my fitness pal. Which I've been using. It's helped me lose 20 lbs already along with a total of 4 yes 4 inches from my waist. If you read my previous post you will know how hard it is for me to lose weight. Never mind walk up 4 flights of stairs. When I started this entire diet/healthier living I was lucky if I could make it up one flight of stairs without feeling like I was dying.
The fitbit and my fitness pal can sync together. Now the fitbit does sync together to other weight loss apps, but I'm not sure what ones but if you do go to the fitbit website you can find out what other programs that it will sync to. Fitbit also has wonderful costumer service I e mailed questions before buying the Fitbit and a wonderful lady named Farrah has helped me so far. Each and ever e mail she has been very friendly and helpful.
So getting back to todays AM workout it looks like this.

| Calories Burned |
I have to admit that I really like seeing the graph. I've always loved graphs! This one shows how many calories are burned each minute of my walk. Talk about cool. Being able to see this. Now if I can only maintain the calories burned during the middle of my walk that would be awesome. But not bad for really just starting out.
