Working out has become much easier. I've went from not being able to 2 tenths of a mile to being able to do 3 (three) miles at a time. I started off slow, and about a month later I was able to do 1 (one) mile. No big deal right? You say that a mile is simple. Not so much when you have lower limb lymphedema. I've said before what lymphedema is a swelling *usually in the legs* that is caused by lymph accumulating in the tissues in the affected area. The simple way to explain this is that my lymphatic system doesn't work as it should.
Since I was really excited about losing weight we bought a fitbit. A fitbit is a really awesome pedometer, that tracks just about everything you could want in a pedometer. It racks steps, distance, calories, stairs and sleep. All of which I believe to be important. I wanted to compare how well I'm doing now to when I started so I'll be posting a few more pictures.
After about 2 weeks I was able to almost walk a mile.
As of today I can do I would like to add that I can do stairs but it's just been so hot in GA that I haven't been doing them. But I know I can do about 10 flights. Before I couldn't hardly do one flight without feeling as though I could die. I will be honest 10 flights sometimes makes me feel as though I'm going to, but the accomplishment of it is well worth it.
Today's results which is the 50 lbs lost mark.
As far as sleeping I fully believe that I'm getting a better nights sleep with being active and losing weight. I wake up far more refreshed that before I don't wake up as much which just gives me more energy in the morning. As you can see I slept less last night than the first night. But I didn't wake up as much as I use to.
Before -50 pounds Now

Still more to go. But wow 50 lbs is heavy. I can't believe I've lost that much.
Thank you to all the encouragement it gives me the will power to continue.
Angela
